楊愛國，1982年畢業于原山東省水產學校海水養殖本科班，2000年獲中國海洋大學水產養殖學博士學位。一直從事海水貝類苗種繁育、養殖、遺傳育種等研究工作。在扇貝、牡蠣、魁蚶、櫛江珧等重要經濟貝類遺傳、繁育等方面開展了深入研究。在國內率先完成單體牡蠣、三倍體扇貝、扇貝遠緣雜交等技術的研究，并進行大面積推廣。以第一完成人獲山東省科技進步一等獎、青島市科技進步二等獎及山東省專利二等獎等獎勵多項；公開發表學術論文100余篇；主編著作3部；發布行業標準1項。2009年被評為青島市勞動模范，2011年被授予青島拔尖人才稱號。
主要研究方向：（1）采用染色體操作、雜交、選擇等育種技術對扇貝種質進行遺傳改良；（2）海水貝類健康養殖技術研究；（3）海水貝類人工繁育技術研究；（4）貝類遺傳多樣性評估和種質監測。
